Brief description of the Project |
The physical fashion industry is shrinking, finding a new market for traditional fashion designers to expand their retail market will be urgent for their survival. Leading them to enter this new digital world will be the objective of this project.
This is also in response to the result from the round table meeting between the Secretary for Commerce and Economic Development, Mr. Edward Yau and the design industry to support the development and implementation of a new market for the creative industries of Hong Kong.
Fashion interest in the virtual world is surging. Digital fashion promises to be incredibly revolutionary for the fashion industry, as it not only arrests the issues of mass production and generation of waste, but also brings unlimited potentials by the use of technology to create intriguing and seductive fashion narratives of endless possibilities. Digital Fashion is unconstrained by the boundaries of the physical realm.
“FabriX” is a brand-new pilot programme organized by PMQ, aiming to scout for new talents and prepare young designers for the future of the Digital Fashion World. The estimated impact of virtual fashion is still unknown, but its adoption promises to be the next best thing after the development of internet fashion shopping. |
